I started titling this post something about 2011, but that just seemed strange to me. I remember thinking it was weird having to get used to typing/writing 2008. Oh the good old days.
I love this week. The hustle and bustle of Christmas is over. Don't get me wrong--I do love the season. But there is something about the planning and looking ahead to the next year that I really love. The fresh start. Clean slate. Blank canvas. You get the picture. I haven't done much planning the past couple of years and have promptly added that to my list of regrets. I feel like I've wasted the past couple years of life (for many reasons that would take up a whole other post) and I'd like to be more intentional this year on several fronts.
One is reading more. When I worked at Starbucks I would get through about 2 books a month. Seems like a lot, but with a set 30 minute break every day it was easy to do (especially with a mocha in hand). Since being in this rotten funk of a season, I've had trouble finishing any books. I have shelves in my room packed with un-read titles, but I can't bring myself to get through one. So hopefully this new year will bring new motivation to finish. Now, the issue is narrowing down my list. Since this is my blog (duh) and I love lists (if you don't know that about me, you shouldn't be reading this) I've added a beauty below of all of the books I currently have on my shelf that I want to read. The few that have ** are because I've already been through them once, but really want to re-read.
Please note that these are only the Christian titles. This doesn't include all of the other biographies, fiction, kids books (I'm currently working through the Chroni-what-cles of Narnia) and hope to get through Harry Potter as well. But as you'll see.....I'm in over my head.

Love it! I hate to add another title to the already daunting list (well, daunting to a non-reader like me), BUT you must read Neil Anderson's Victory Over the Darkness. MUST. I will send you my copy, be it raggedy and spilled on.
The ones I've read...
I LURVED Celebration of Discipline and Irresistable Revolution.
Scouting the Divine was just ok in my opinion. Not life-changing with deep principles, but light reading.
And I am with you in wanting to read Chan's two books!
I too hope to get through the Chroni-what-cles of Narnia this year.
Oh yeah--Mom has Neil Anderson's book. Should I push it to the top of the list?
UPDATE: 1 Narnia book down--5 more to go!
I struggled to keep my eyes open through 2 1/2 Narnia books then gave up. Have not read any others.
Teach me your ways!
p.s. This IS Liz, not Shelby ; D
